2018 Parade

The 79th Annual Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show will be held March 8 –18, 2018 and the theme of this year’s show and parade is: “Educating Youth, Promoting Agriculture”. Our parade is planned for Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M.

In addition to floats, antique cars, marching bands & drill teams, horse riding groups & trail riders are welcome.
This year the parade will start on the corner of Texas Ave and 6
th Street and will end and disband on Starr St. before Expressway 83.

Prizes for competitive floats, entered by a non-profit organization, which carry out the theme will be awarded as follows:
1st place - $1,000.00
2nd place - $600.00
3rd place - $400.00
4th place - $250.00
Plaques will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place noncompetitive floats.

To all Trail Riding Groups: An inspection of all horses will be conducted at the parade site. All riders must bring their horse’s Coggins Report. Horses that are from quarantined area must bring proof that your horse has been sprayed and have the 14 day pass in your possession. We hope you will return the enclosed application by February 16, advising us you will participate. We will send you instructions as to the parade route, along with your assigned entry number, approximately ten days prior to the parade.
