Academic Scholarship Program

The Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show, through its Champs for Champions program provides the opportunity for high school graduates to be considered for a "Champs for Champions Academic Scholarship" thanks to the following donors and contributors:
  • Champs for Champions Members
  • AEP Foundation
  • Mission-McAllen Beef Club
  • Joey Morrow Memorial Fund
  • Ben Cowan Memorial Fund
  • LaRee Morrow Memorial Fund
  • Lisa Turner Memorial

Champs for Champions Achievement Scholarship

The Champs for Champions program also provides a scholarship program for 4-H and FFA exhibitors who exhibit projects in qualifying contests. The Achievement Scholarship, formerly known as Exhibitor Scholarships, are awarded to Division Champions in qualifying events and range from $500 to $1,000 per qualifying exhibitor. These awards can be identified in the RGVLS Premium Book. Redemption for these scholarships follows the same requirements as the Academic Scholarship program. Other Scholarship Opportunities

Below are some other scholarship opportunities that 4-H/FFA members may be eligible for.
TAFE Scholarship Applications must be submitted (arrive - not postmarked) to RGVLS office by April 22 by 5pm. Be sure to get verification from RGVLS staff of receipt.

Scholarship Redemption Info

Scholarship funds must be requested using the online Scholarship Redemption form by June 1, 2027 (for 2026 graduates). Failure to provide the following information to RGVLS by the redemption deadline will result in forfeiture of all scholarship awards.
Scholarship awardee must provide the following:
  • High school transcript with proof of graduation
  • Proof of enrollment in college/university or technical/trade school (e.g. class schedule)
  • Verification of Enrollment (VOE) from the institution
  • IRS Form W-9 (must be completed each time a redemption request is submitted)

  • RGVLS Champs for Champions Academic Scholarships
  • RGVLS Achievement (Exhibitor) Scholarships
